The SA Premier Business Awards acknowledges business excellence in South Africa and is organised by the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti), in partnership with Proudly South Africa and Brand South Africa.

The SMME Award acknowledges small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) as a key enabler of economic growth and employment in South Africa. The award targets SMMEs with less than 300 employees and a turnover below R100 million. One of the main criteria requires an illustration of the company’s sustainability and future potential to grow and create more local jobs. The Woman-owned business Award acknowledges women-owned enterprises as a key part of economic growth in South Africa.

“It is an honour to be nominated in two categories. Not only is it a recognition of the hard work we have put in to running this company, but more importantly the dedication, and hard work of our employees. Their commitment to  FES enables us to compete and grow this business,” says Florence Musengi, CEO at Floida Engineering services.

The SA Premier Business Awards ceremony, which will be hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti), will take place on 30 January 2018 under the theme “rewarding business excellence.”

Floida Engineering Services takes a step towards worldwide expansion at DSEI

London – UK. Floida Engineering Services (FES) will exhibit for the first time at DSEI in London from 12-15 September 2017, as part of the South African pavilion. The South African company which has shown impressive growth since its formation is looking to create global networks and partnerships at DSEI.

Having participated in a number of defence and security shows and fairs in South Africa and already established as a provider of cutting-edge radar and sensor technologies for use in electronic warfare and secure defence communications, FES is an established supplier for South Africa’s Department of Defence. Their research and development work in radar technology for that customer is the cornerstone of the company’s strategy for worldwide expansion.

“DSEI is a very platform for us”, explains FES Chief Executive Officer, Florence Musengi. “Our objective here is to expand the FES brand and create an awareness about our services and capabilities. South Africa is at the helm of so many technologies that can be applied to the defence and security environments and the world should be exposed to them.”

As an innovation hub, FES offers a product and services model that is holistic and utilises the ingenuity of young engineers to cultivate high-impact change for defence technologies. This is done by researching and developing world-class technologies to meet today’s security and defence needs.

“The extent of exposure and experience that DSEI provides to a company like FES cannot be over emphasised. We have forged our own way in South Africa as a female-owned company operating in a challenging space and we are looking to do the same in Europe through DSEI”, concludes Musengi.
